Frequently Asked Questions

The following are frequently asked questions about Aerovex Systems products. If you don\’t see your question here or have questions about any of our products, please Contact us or call us at 1-608-535-6239.

  • Q: The One That Works™: Is the air purifier easy to install?

YES! In fact, it is simple, and there is no installation required. Simply take the air purifier out of the box, removing the shipping brace, plug it in the electrical outlet and it is ready to use!

  • Q: The One That Works™: Does the air purifier create cool airflow patterns?

No. The unique “fountain airflow” sends the clean air towards the ceiling, and will not change the temperature of the salon air.

  • Q: The One That Works™: Will one unit purify all the air in the salon?

By determining the appropriate model for your salon, usually one unit is all that is required. For large salons with high ceilings and high levels of pollution, more than one unit may be required to maintain fresh air throughout the salon. Call us today for your free consultation 1-608-535-6239.

  • Q: The One That Works™: Does it really work?

YES! “The One That Works™” is the only air purifier designed specifically for nail salons. Our consultation will result in a recommendation for the appropriate model for your salon. When your customers walk into your salon there will be no appreciable difference between the fresh air outside and the fresh air inside your salon.

  • Q: The One That Works™: Where should the air purifier be placed?

The Salon chemical vapors are heavier than air and tend to migrate towards the floor. That is why the purifier should be placed on the floor, in the center of the Salon. Or, up against the wall towards the center of the Salon. Do NOT place the purifier in the corner of the room.

  • Q: The One That Works™: How economical is the machine?

Very. The High Speed uses 135 Watts, and the Low Speed uses 90 Watts.

  • Q: The One That Works™: How often should I change the carbon in my “The One That Works™” Air Purifier?

We recommend changing the carbon every 4 or 6 months to ensure optimal performance. If you have 3 nail technicians or under, and are not operating more than 8 hours a day, then you will need to change the carbon around every 6 months. If you have 3 or more nail tech’s and operate more than 8 hours a day, then we recommend you replace the carbon every 4 months.

  • Q: The One That Works™: Does the air purifier take up a lot of space?

No, the air purifier is only 15” tall and has a 16.5” diameter. It is also very easy to move around with the 3-wheel mobile cart available.

  • Q: The One That Works™: Are there expensive filters to buy and replace?

No, the outside dust filter is machine washable. Wash the dust filter approximately every 2 weeks or once per month. There are no filters or cartridges inside the unit to replace. Simply change the Activated Carbon at every 4 or 6 months (approximately 43 cents per day).

  • Q: The One That Works™: Is the room air purifier noisy?

The room purifier has two speeds. The Low speed is very quiet, and is the standard setting. The High speed is louder and used for emergencies such as chemical spills and is used to clean the air quickly. On high speed the purifier sounds like an average residential fan.

  • Q: The One That Works™: What are additional control measures that are available to maintain fresh air quality?

We also offer source capture ventilation units which capture salon dusts and chemicals vapors at the technicians breathing zone. In addition, we have special filters for your HVAC system which remove salon dusts and chemical vapors from salon’s HVAC systems.

  • Q: Hair Chemical Source Capture System: How can we prevent our staff\’s and clientele\’s overexposure to keratin hair smoothing formaldehyde?

  • Q: Hair Chemical Source Capture System: What is the difference between Healthy Air™ and other brand source capture systems?

Healthy Air™ hair chemical source capture systems are built from the ground up specifically for hair stylists. We have sound levels below conversational speech, easy filter changing which eliminates unit dis-assembly and avoids messy carbon module emptying & re-filling, an electronic control panel featuring a filter change indicator, clear capture hood with LED lighting, more suction (CFM) than any other salon source capture system. Patented Healthy Air™ technology utilizing eHepa™ filtration holds and destroys microorganisms, loads slowly, and has less airflow restriction than standard Hepa filters. A high energy field enhances keratin hair smoothing formaldehyde vapor/fume and other hair chemical service vapor adsorption. And, the high energy field increases particle capture efficiency. eHepa™ vs. HEPA: Know the Difference http://www.healthyair.net

  • Q: Nail Source Capture System: Is the unit noisy?

The sound level is quiet and below conversational speech ( Low speed – 51 dBa, Medium speed – 53 dBa, High speed – 56 dBa). As a comparison, conversational speech is 60 dBa. We have made the low sound level a priority in the design of our unit. Other manufacturer\’s sound levels approach 60 dBa, and nail techs are then required to raise their voices to carry on a conversation with their client when using. There is no need to equip our unit with an exhaust silencer as some manufacturers resort to as a means to quiet down their units originally designed for other heavy industrial applications. Some manufacturers don\’t provide you with their unit\’s noise levels, or if they do, they only indicate levels when operating on low speed.
